Thirty Paintings in 30 Days Painting Challenge - Day 6

                                                                         "Escape"
                                                                           6" x 6"
                                                                         $100.00

I painted this from a photo I took while staying out in the Provincetown dunes (Cape Cod National Seashore). As an artist I was privileged to get selected 3 times and stayed in 3 different dune shacks. The dune shacks were home to american artists from the 1920's - today. Miles away from civilization they are a haven for the creative mind. While the shacks have no electricity or running water it is amazing how satisfying the simple life can be. There is much to be said about the dune shacks as well as many well known artists who have stayed in them. To learn more search ... National geographic dune shacks youtube. It's a 6:42 minute video and gives a great understanding of these little humble abodes!

This was the first shack I stayed in - Margo-Gelb otherwise know as "Boris." From sunrise til sunset the color of the dunes is absolutely amazing!
